How to apply for q̓at̓ᶿaymɩxʷ
Choir Application
Choirs wishing to participate in the International Choral q̓at̓ᶿaymɩxʷ must prepare the following before proceeding to the application form:
· a short biography of the choir (maximum 100 words)
· a short biography of the conductor (maximum 50 words)
· a photograph of the choir (300 dpi)
· a photograph of the conductor (300 dpi)
· a link to a recent recording of the choir

**Choir application forms and supporting material must be received by November 13, 2026.**
Individual Singer Appliation
Individual singers wishing to participate in the common song singing and/or vocal solo competitions must submit an Individual Registration Form.

Vocal Solo Competition
Members of participating choirs wishing to enter the vocal solo competition must complete registeration on or before March 1, 2027. Links to the registration system will be sent to accepted choirs.
Note: no more that five singers per choir may enter a vocal solo competition. Be sure to view the Competitions page for categories and requirements.
Tearms
Applicants agree to participate in all festival events scheduled for their choir, to waive all rights related to radio/television broadcasting and audio/video recording, and to waive any right to financial compensation of any kind.
Acceptance
All applicants will be sent notification by December 15, 2026. Artistic and other factors play a role in the decisions of the committee. There will be a maximum number of choirs per category and a limited number of entries per country.
Confirmation & Fees
Accepted choirs must then provide written confirmation of participation and submit a registration fee of $250 CAD per participant no later than January 15, 2027
"Participants" include: singers, conductors, accompanists and chaperones. Spouses, supporters, parents etc. may be considered participants, as derterminted by festival organizers.
We understand that, at the time of paying registration fees, the number of participants represents your best estimate. Confirmed choirs wishing to add additional participants after January 15, 2027 must notify the festival organizers of the change and may make additional payments. The cutt-off to make changes is May 1, 2027. Some costs incurred are non-refundable, but if a choirs participant number declines, overpaid participant fees may be transferred to cover hotel and/or meal costs.
Registration fee covers tickets to concerts, competitions, social events, limited festival transportation, festival souvenir program, and access to other festival events.
Payments are to be sent in Canadian Dollars (CAD) via bank transfer, credit card by phone, or cheque in the mail.
