California Vocal Arts Ensemble - Los Osos, USA
The Ensemble was founded in September 1977 under the direction of conductor Gary Lamprecht. The California Vocal Arts Ensemble is a 30 to 55 voiced community adult choir which has achieved remarkable success. For over 42 years the Ensemble given 10 concerts in California every year. The Choir has had twelve international concert tours. They have won Silver in choral competitions at the Eisteddfod in Wales (1985), the Kathaumixw Festival in British Columbia in Canada (2000), Spittal, Austria (2004), and Florence, Italy (20015). We won Gold in Barcelona and Calella, Spain in October 2018.
Gary Lamprecht, Founder and Musical Director of the California Vocal Arts Ensemble taught choral music in the California public schools for 34 years. Mr. Lamprecht had the distinction of receiving the first "Teacher of the Year" award for his School District in 1985. He was again honored as “Teacher of the Year" for his School District in 1997 and County "Teacher of the Year" in 1998. He received the HOWARD SWAN award, California ’s highest award from the American Choral Directors Association upon his retirement in 2007.
