Application Process

Choirs, vocal soloists and individual conductors wishing to participate in the International Choral Kathaumixw must submit:

and the following supporting material:

  • short biography of the choir (maximum 100 words
  • short biography of the conductor (maximum 50 words)
  • a photograph of the choir (300 dpi)
  • a photograph of the conductor (300 dpi)
  • a recent recording of the choir  (CD, MP3, DAT, Cassette, Video or DVD formats accepted)

Choir application forms and supporting material must reach the office of the International Choral Kathaumixw on or before November 1, 2007.

Vocal solo application forms must reach the office of the International Choral
Kathaumixw on or before April 15, 2008.

OBLIGATIONS

Each participating choir is obliged:

  • to participate in the planned schedule for the whole festival period.

  • to waive all rights associated with radio or television broadcasting and audio and video recordings.

  • to waive all rights to any form of financial compensation.

ACCEPTANCE

The festival committee will notify choirs whether or not they are accepted as participants by December 15, 2007. Artistic and other factors play a role in the decisions of the committee.

There will be a maximum number of choirs per category and a limited number of entries per country.

CONFIRMATION

Choirs must confirm their participation in writing by January 15, 2008. A deposit of 50% of the total participation fee must accompany this confirmation. If the confirmation and payment are not received by the due date, the festival reserves the right to accept another ensemble on the waiting list.

PARTICIPATION FEE

Choirs and soloists must pay a $185 CAD participation fee per participant. "Participants" include singers, conductors, accompanists, and chaperones. The registration fee covers tickets to concerts, competitions, social events, transit pass, swimming pool pass, festival program, and other festival events.
