Century Youth Children's Choir ~ Taiwan
Century Youth-Children’s Choir was founded in April 1992 by Director Lee Jen-Chieh, Conductor Yang Huei-Gong and Piano Accompanist Lee Tsun-En. Currently there are about one hundred members who are students of elementary and junior high schools in Kaohsiung City.
A youth choir was established in 1998. Choristers all have a rich experience in singing and have developed a profound passion for choral music since childhood. Their skills and proficiency as well as art in music have matured with time and become more infectious through long-term training provided by the choir.
Over the past years, besides annual public performance, the choir has also put on overseas performances on invitation in countries such as the U.S., Italy, Singapore, the Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Austria, France, the Netherland, Russia, Portugal and Belgium.
The Choir has also attended various festival programs including holiday celebrations, gospel concerts and philanthropic performances;
July 2000 “CHOIR OLYMPICS 2000 in LINZ, Austria and won the gold medal in the semi-final and silver medal in the final,
2001 “International Johanes Brahms Chorfestival and Wettwerb” in Wernigerode, Germany,
2002 Europa Cantat in Namur, Belgium,
2003 Europa Cantat in Barcelona, Spain 2004 the Century Youth-Children’s Choir was granted the honour to participate in Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican, Italy,
2004 Europa Cantat” in Nevers, France,
2005 they were granted the honour to participate in Mass at the Cathedral of Kolner Dom, Germany,
2005 “Europa Cantat in Gent, Blegium, 2006 they were very honoured to be invited by the president of Czech Republic, Mr. Vaclar Klaus, to give a performance in the Prague Castle Garden,
2006 “ XVI Europa Cantat” in Mainz, Germany
2007 they participated in Russia at the “Festival Singing World” at St. Petersburg,
2008 “Europa Cantat” in Barcelona, Spain and was granted the hone to participate in Mass “Mosteiro dos Hrronimos” in Lisbon, Portugal. 2009 “International Johanes Brahms Chorfestival and Wettwerb” in Wernigerode, Germany and won the Sonderpreis and silver medal.
The Century Youth-Children’s Choir wishes to bring the beautiful music of Taiwan to the world and share it with musical friends.

In addition to the Children's Choir, another choir for youths was established in 1998. The members of Youth Choir all have rich experiences in singing and have developed a profound passion for choral music since childhood.
