Youth Choir Ozvena

The Choir Society OZVENA  in Vranaov nad Toplou, Slovakia, was founded as a Girls Choir in 1980 and now consists of six choral groups.  Most of the singers and all of the conductors and accompanists are teachers at a private music school. The OZVENA choirs have taken part in many international festivals and concerts and have won many awards such as  First Prize for Youth and Children Choir Competition of Slovakia, prizes for introducing contemporary compositions of Slovak composers, Silver and Bronze Prizes in Tonen 2000 in Netherlands, prizes from Cantonigros, Spain and from Celia, Slovenia. Their repertoire is varied and includes many original compositions.  Prominent Slovak composers such as Zdenko Mikula, Ivan Hrušovsky and others have written and dedicated their compositions to OZVENA.

 

Vilma Krauspeová

Mrs. Krauspeová is the conductor of the Youth Choir KOZVENA and the Boys Choir at the Private Music School in Vranov nad Toplou.  In 1980 she established the Girls Choir Ozvena and later Children, Youth and Boys choirs.  In 1997 she opened a private Music School which most of the Ozvena choir members attend..  Ms. Krauspeová is Vice-President of Slovak Choral Association and frequently represents Slovakia abroad especially at the Europa Cantat Federation.. She is often a jury member both in her own country and abroad and is President and main organizer of the International Choral Festival in Vranov nad Toplou.
