Youth Choir 61

Founded in 1994, Youth Choir 61 is the official District Choir for School District #61 in  Great Victoria, Canada.  This auditioned choir, which includes choristers ages 11 – 17, enjoys singing from a wide variety of musical styles which includes music from different cultures.  The Choir continues to grow as it masters music with greater vocal facility and with deeper understanding.  The Choir’s enthusiasm and musicality has attracted many invitations to sing including performances at Government House and for Governor General Jean.  As well as hosting their own concerts during the year, the Choir has performed locally as special guests with the Arion Male Voice Chorus and at a number of District #61 functions.  Since its formation, the Choir has toured parts of BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Whitehorse.  They were also selected to sing in Disneyland and performed with members of the rock group Chilliwack for the Art 2000 Millennium Celebration.
