Westminster Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir of the Westminster Presbyterian Church from Portland, United States has been strong and a vital part of the worship of God for over 50 years. The choir’s history has always been one of providing the finest choral music for worship services possible.  The tradition continues to this day, featuring weekly anthems, offertories and choral responses for every church season.  In addition to providing sacred music for worship this choir has sought to encourage choral singing in other places by organizing choral festivals in small communities.   Three major choral works are performed annually, often with orchestral accompaniment.  Repertoire not only includes great music from the past but also of modern composers such as Respighi, Proulz, Poulenc and Britten.  The choir has also commissioned new works.  This choir is not without a great sense of humour and desire to sing secular music.  Toward that end, there is an annual choir cabaret show each February.
