Seattle Children's Chorus Arioso

Arioso is the advanced treble choir of Seattle Children’s Chorus, a choral arts organization dedicated to fostering musical excellence in the development of young singers.   The Chorus offers a quality, performance-based vocal education and programs repertoire of highest caliber from all genres of choral music with a special emphasis on sacred literature.  Seattle Children’s Chorus believes in enriching the young singer with excellent festival and cross-cultural experiences.  Arioso has toured both locally and internationally, having traveled to Great Britain, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Canada and Brazil.  The choir has been invited to perform for regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. Seattle Children’s Chorus enjoys giving back to the community by participation in local churches, civic and cultural events.

Kris Mason

Kris Mason founded the Seattle Children’s Chorus in 1989  and has been Artistic Director since then.  She is a choral specialist who has worked in public music education and church music for over 30 years.  She is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. Ms. Mason has served as Washington State president for the Chorister’s Guild and as Repertoire & Standards Chair of Children’s Choirs for the American Choral Director’s Association in Washington State.  She is an active clinician and guest conductor throughout her region and has also served as Director of Music at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Marysville, Washington . Ms. Mason is  presently teaching elementary music in the Marysville School District.
