Island Voices Chamber Choir

Since its founding in 1997 Island Voices Chamber Choir has been committed to “singing excellent music excellently”, first under the guidance of founder and musical director Frances Keen and now with conductor Jo-Anne Preston.  Composed of singers from Quadra Island and Vancouver Island, the choir meets weekly to rehearse in the small but centrally situated community of Black Creek.  Milestones in the choir’s growth have been participation in the 1998 BC Chorfest as a “core” choir, a second place finish in the Chamber Choir category in the International Choral Festival Kathaumixw in 2000 and the release in 2005 of the Island Voices’ second CD.

Jo-Anne Preston
