Bellevue Chamber Chorus
Founded in 1984, the Bellevue Chamber Chorus consists of 28-32 auditioned singers who perform a diverse repertoire of styles from the standard classics, contemporary choral works from around the world, folk music and vocal jazz. In addition, this American choir frequently collaborates with other ensembles to perform larger works such as Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem (both with the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra). The Chorus also has premiered commissioned pieces by regional composers, including Alan Hovhaness and John Muehleisen. National and international performances include two trips to Carnegie Hall, two European tours and the 2000 International Music Festival in Sydney, Australia. In June 2007 the Bellevue Chamber Chorus was invited to participate in the American Masterpieces Choral Festival in Seattle, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. The Chorus has released two studio CDs in recent years, entitled Timeframes and Retrospective.
