Medicine Hat College Girls’ Choir

The Medicine Hat College Girls’ Choir has become an important element in the cultural life of the city of Medicine Hat, Canada. Comprised of girls ages 12 – 18 years the choir maintains an active schedule of rehearsals and performances, participating in workshops and performing at community events and annual concerts. The choir has proven itself with top awards and superior ratings at local, provincial, national and international festivals. Major tours have included the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales in 1997 and 2004, EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany, Unisong and the Niagara International Festivals in 2002. The choir is an ensemble of the Medicine Hat College Conservatory of Music and Dance.

 

Joanne Collier

Joanne Collier has taught voice and choir at Medicine Hat College Conservatory of Music and Dance since 1989. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Manitoba. In addition to her regular schedule she frequently is asked to be an adjudicator and clinician. Ms. Collier is the recipient of the City of Medicine Hat Civic Recognition Cultural Award and the Medicine Hat College “Employee of the Year”.
