Coro de Cámara de la  Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México

Founded in 1962, the Chamber Choir of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México has obtained great prestige in the national and university choral field under the direction of Emilio Hernández. The choir has taken part in many national symposiums and festivals. In 2000 the choir was conducted by the Peruvian teacher Aurelio Tello, the most acknowledged researcher of Mexican colonial music. It was selected to represent Mexico in the America Cantat IV in 2004 and in 2005 joined the “First National Festival of Chamber Choirs” in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas obtaining great success with its presentations.

Emilio Hernández García

Emilio Hernández García has directed the Coro de Camara de la Universidad Autonoma Del Estado de Mexico since 1998. After graduating from University he worked as an accompanist and studied choral direction. He was assistant director of the children’s choir Schola Cantorum of Mexico” as well as the chief director of the School of Fine Arts Choir in Toluca. He is currently coordinator of “Niňos Cantores de Mexico” and a delegate of an International Society that promotes friendship among nations through Choral Singing and Dramatic Art.
