The Stockholm Chamber Choir

Founded in 1981 the Stockholm Chamber Choir from Sweden is an independent choir. It performs about ten concerts annually and tours both in Sweden and abroad. In 2002 Mozart’s Requiem was performed along with new music from Estonia, Finland and Sweden. In 2003 the Stockholm Chamber Choir presented a concert of music written to lyrics by William Shakespeare in collaboration with the actress Stina Ekblad . The choir also performed Alfred Schnittke’s Concerto for Choir. An early summer concert and several traditional Advent concerts are yearly events.

 

Christoffer Holgersson

Christoffer Holgersson is the artistic director and conductor of the Stockholm Chamber Choir. He was born in 1973 and completed his Master’s Diploma in Choral Conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2001. Mr. Holgersson studied with Professor Anders Eby, Professor Eric Ericson and Robert Sund among others. As well, he holds a degree in Orchestral Conducting studying with Cecilia Rydinger-Ahlin, Glenn Mossop and Jorma Panula. He teaches at the Adolf Fredriks’ Music School in Stockholm where he is the artistic director and conductor of the Adolf Fredriks’ Boy’s Choir. He also teaches Ensemble Conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
