Amabilis Singers

New Westminster, Canada, has been home for twenty years to this auditioned community choir. The Amabilis Singer’s repertoire is extensive and diverse. It includes choir works of the classical masters including Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms, popular songs and jazz renditions of the big band era, African and American sprirituals and sacred music and folk songs from many cultures. The Choir has performed with the Vancouver Symphony and other orchestras on a number of occasions and had their first appearance at the International Choral Kathaumixw in 1994.

 

Anne Wilson Unger

Anne Wilson Unger has spent many years studying piano, violin, voice and choral music. She holds an ARCT and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Victoria and an AVCM in piano pedagogy from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Ms. Unger spent a year in England studying at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera School. In August 1996 she completed a Master of Music at Western Washington University with emphasis on accompanying and choral conducting. In addition to directing the Amabilis Singers, Ms. Unger directors the VIVO Children’s Choir and continues to teach and adjudicate.
