Weston Noble

  Weston Noble is celebrating his fifty-fourth year as conductor of the Nordic Choir of Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, USA. He has served as guest conductor for over 800 music festivals in 49 states, Canada, Europe, Australia and South America and directed more that 50 all-state choruses, bands and orchestras. In 1989 he was named the Outstanding Music Educator of the United States and in 1999 the ACDA presented him with the Robert Lawson Shaw Citation. Mr. Noble has conducted ten concert tours in Europe, has been guest conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Bridges of Song Music Festival in Tallinn, Estonia and is a charter member of the American Choral Directors Association and an elected member of the American Bandmasters Association. He has received many awards for his contribution to choral music. Two of these are the St. Olav Medal given by the King of Norway and the Wittenberg Award honoring outstanding Lutheran laity and clergy.
