Wellington Girls' College Choir

This New Zealand choir, established since 1985 as the "Pipitea Polyphonica", and having a touring section called "Pochettino"
has won several awards in recent years. In their first overseas trip
(1993) they won titles at the National Choral Championships of Australia.
They have returned to Australia recently, competing in the Adelaide
Eisteddfod, gaining a second place in the small choir section. The choir
also toured Argentina in 1997. It has made several recordings for Radio
New Zealand and has competed with some success in National and Regional
Secondary School Choral Festivals since 1994.
David Dobson
David Dobson has been Director of Music at Wellington Girls' College since 1979. He received his early training in organ and conducting under the direction of Maxwell Fernie, a local church organist and choir director. Mr. Dobson gained a degree in Music from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ. His conducting style has been greatly influenced by Rodney Eichenberger since first meeting him in the late 1980's.
