Sweet Debut

Sweet Debut is a Canadian Choir that has been a vital part of the Province of Manitoba's choral scene for the past fourteen years. The ensemble is based in Virden, a town of approximately 3000 people, and singers come from seven different communities. The choir is well known for its diverse repertoire. It has represented Manitoba in national festival competition and has been a finalist in the CBC Radio Competition. Sweet Debut has received Gold awards at Musicfests in Halifax, Toronto and Vancouver. Many singers have gone on to choose music as a career. Sweet Debut is thrilled to be returning to Kathaumixw for an experience of a lifetime. Here's to Powell River!!

Michelle Chyzyk

Michelle Chyzyk has spent the last fourteen years teaching music in three Virden schools, as well as working as an accompanist, choreographer and choral director. Mrs. Chyzyk has directed the Virden Collegiate Choir, Virden and District Youth Choir, Sound Investment, Virden Voices, Boys in Treble, Western Manitoba Youth Choir, Provincial Honour Choir and Sweet Debut. She was the artistic/musical director for the vivacious PRIDE OF MANITOBA, was featured as a local hero in Harrowsmith magazine and in a CBC documentary by Country Canada.
