Powell River Chorus
The Powell River Chorus is a community choir that is celebrating 47 years of singing in 2002. The Chorus not only presents formal concerts in Powell River but also appears at many community events. They have traveled throughout British Columbia and enjoyed a concert tour in Europe. The Chorus has won recognition in regional and national competitions.
Nancy Hollmann, their conductor, will retire after 24 years of service after Kathaumixw.
Nancy Hollmann
Nancy Hollmann has directed the Powell River Chorus for 21 years. She has a wide background as a school music and drama teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon, USA and a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from Western Oregon State College. Ms. Hollmann has served as a clinician at choral workshops for music educators. She is an accomplished vocal soloist, accompanist and instrumentalist.
