Northwest Girlchoir
Northwest Girlchoir from Seattle, U.S.A. is among the finest youth choruses in North America. Renowned for professional quality musicianship and sophisticated interpretation of complex emotionally charged musical texts, the choir performs around the world. Among the choir's many credits are invitational performances at World of Children's Choirs 2001 in Vancouver, Canada, Brazilian National Public Radio (July 2000) American Choral Directors' Association conventions, symphonies and adult ensembles. Northwest Girlchoir Amore was a triple-award winner at Hungary's Béla Bartók Festival (1992), and third at the 1998 international Music Festival, Cantonigros, Spain. Amore is comprised of 105 treble voices (ages 14 - 18) from the most experienced Northwest Girlchoir singers.
Debra Shearer
A native Australian, Debra Shearer received her Doctorate in Choral Conducting (minors in Music Education, Ethnomusicology and Music History) from Indiana University. Since 1999 she has been conductor of the Indiana University Chamber and Youth Choirs and served as lead singer/director of the International Vocal Ensemble. She is proficient in German, French and Italian and received a diploma from Kodayly Intézet in Hungary. While centering her energy on choral directing, Ms. Shearer also manages an active performing career.
