Lviv State Music College Teachers Choir

Lviv State Music College Teachers Choir is named after S. Ludkevych. This Ukrainian Choir was founded in 1990. Stanislav Ludkevytch is an honoured figure of culture in Ukraine. The members are teachers in different professions, who, in their spare time perform compositions of Ukraine and other countries. They especially enjoy singing songs from Halychyna, an area in Western Ukraine. During its short history the choir has taken part in the jubilee celebrations of the Academy in Munich, Germany and was the winner of the International Competition of Church Music in Haynyvka, Poland. It has given performances in Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. A high professional level, a sensation of style and a harmonious singing ensure successful performances of the Choir.
Volodymyr Hnid
In 1998 Volodymyr Hnid was awarded an Honourary Title of a Merited Figure of Culture of Ukraine by the order of the President. He has also received honourary state titles for his activity in the field of culture and choral music. Mr. Hnid graduated from Lviv State Conservatoire and since then has conducted several choirs and organized festivals and competitions. As well as conducting the Teacher's Choir he also conducts the Folk Male Choir 'Orphey' of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.
