Arnold
Arthur Arnold (Netherlands), began his musical studies on the cello with Dmitri Ferschtman (Amsterdam) and Christopher Bunting (London). He was principal solo-cellist in the Flevolands Chamber Orchestra, played in the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and was one of the members of the cello octet Conjunto Iberico,
with whom he played at major festivals in Europe, USA and Canada.
He studied conducting with Anton Kersjes in the Netherlands and with Jean Fournet in Paris. In 1996, he was awarded by the "Prins Bernhard Foundation" to study at the Academia Chigiana in Siena (Italy) with Myung-Whun Chung. He participated in
master classes with Diego Masson, Gianluigi Gelmetti and Jorma Panula.
Maestro Arnold has conducted opera at the Dartington Internationall Festival, has been assistant conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, U.S.A. He is conductor of the Raduga Chamber Orchestra, the only professional woman's orchestra of the Netherlands and guest conductor with the Chopin Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw. Recently, Mr. Arnold was appointed principal guest conductor of the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra.
