Academic Choir of Aarhus

The Academic Choir of Aarhus from Denmark consists of about forty singers, most of whom are students at the University of Aarhus or at the Academy of Music. It is a classical choir with a characteristic Nordic sound. The repertoire contains modern Danish and Nordic choir music as well as works of the Renaissance, the Romantic period and modern composers. The choir sings a significant number of concerts every year and has released three CD's. Touring has always been an important part of their activities either on concert tours or in competitions. In 2000 the choir was awarded a first prize at the Béla Bartók 19th International Choir Competition in Hungary.
